About Wilson Chia

A retired businessman is also known in many other capacities such as philanthropist, art enthusiast and artist. He always seeks to aid the less fortunate since his younger days, focusing and devoting much of his time in numerous children and elderly related welfare and activities over the years.

His penchant for art in later years led him to discover a new passion, starting a new journey in Chinese Painting.

Now he spends most of his time pursuing his interest in art using Chinese ink and rice paper. He enjoys every stroke he makes as inspiration arises. Thus far, Wilson’s works of art have been sold mainly for charitable causes while others were donated and on display at homes for the elderly.

“The joy that one finds when immersed in painting is reflected through one’s brush strokes. It is a truly exhilarating feeling when one completes a painting.”

A seasoned event organiser, he has organised countless community services projects, seminars, conventions and arts exhibitions over the years. While he proactively pursues his own artistic excellence, he incorporates the spirit of community service and charitable causes at the same time.

He setup SDB Art Space as a not for profit organisation to engage a wide community for Uniquely Singapore Artists, promoting Singapore Artists work to the international art arena. Simultaneously he works towards creating a space for Singapore Artists by promoting more exhibitions and marketing opportunities. The same inclusive platform is also used to nurture a group of Differently Bestowed artists (otherwise known as Artists with Special Needs).
