About Nancy Pey
An artist, educator and entrepeneur all in one.
PROFILE
I was born in Singapore and resides more than two decades in Taiwan and Shanghai. I was immersed in the rich art scene in Taiwan and has been exposed to various mediums and art forms. I painted with mainly acrylic, and worked extensively with paper to form figurines, which gained recognition in several exhibitions held in Japan, Taiwan, China and Singapore.
I loved art since I was a child, but was forced to put my dream of being an artist aside when my mother was against me enrolling into the art academy. I later shifted my focus onto becoming an art educator and continue my art learning journey. I set up several art centres as I believes that “Everyone is a SEED that can be nurtured and germinated into a BIG TREE when given suitable conditions and opportunities. I also promote art learning with STEM and stays creative as I teach the young learners.
BE Kollective is my art group where we mentor and provide art learning opportunities for people with specials needs or dementia. Each year, we organised exhibitions to showcase, promote and sell their artworks, to keep them inclusive in the community and build their self esteem.
